Soft Meatballs Made with Just Ground Meat and Onion

Finely mince the onion.

In a bowl, combine the ground pork, minced onion, salt, and potato starch.

Knead the mixture by squeezing it with your hands until it becomes uniform and comes together.

Lightly oil your hands and shape the mixture into 12-14 small meatballs.

Arrange the meatballs in a lightly oiled frying pan.

Turn the heat to medium. Once the pan starts sizzling, add sake, cover with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and steam for 5-6 minutes.

After steaming, uncover the pan and add all the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, sugar, ketchup, and vinegar.

Increase the heat and gently roll the meatballs in the pan to coat them with the sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

The soft meatballs are now complete. Transfer to a plate and serve.
